Dan and I have come up with an idea, with the blessing of Kevin Yeary (USA Bassin president). This tournament trail is one that Dan and I think if you give a try you will continue to return. We have pondered ways to get those who have fished the other winter circuits on Coffeen Lake to visit the up and coming (true to payouts) USA Bassin circuit. There is only one difference that Dan and I observed. That is the $25 per person annual membership fee.

Dan and I have sat back, watched, and fished the other circuits held on Coffeen Lake. There are several differences we have noticed. To start with our rules are discussed 15 minutes prior to take off at the one angler per team mandatory pre-tournament meeting (and are abided by!!), not to mention every boat is live well checked. There are no “good ole boy” grants at the live well checks or at the weigh-in. At the pre-tournament meeting we thank and appreciate all who attend. The atmosphere we ascend to the anglers is gratitude and thoughtfulness. Dan and I also fish the tournament but take off last and return 30 minutes early to assure the scales are ready for the anglers and the fish. Our goal at weigh-in is to return all the fish to the lake alive!

I have fished this lake for many many years. I have fished many tournaments on this lake for a long time. Coffeen Lake holds many memories for me. Everyone says the “best days” at Coffeen Lake are long gone. I say NOT. This lake will rebound, I can assure you! I have done a lot of studying, information digging, and verifying. If you remember, as I do, the Coffeen Lake of past, IT WILL RETURN to that quality bass product fishery.

ONE TIME AND ONE TIME ONLY EVENT, FEBRUARY 13, 2010 YOU MAY FISH THE USA BASSIN COFFEEN LAKE FALL/WINTER DIVISION TOURNAMENT WITH NO MEMBERSHIP FEE!

On that date you will only need the tournament entry fee, $50 per team and $10 optional big bass. Dan and I have thought and thought of ways to get the anglers to come and see what USA Bassin is about and this is our answer! We look forward to seeing each and every Coffeen fanatic!
